Dr. Arup Kumar Hazarika has a distinguished Journalistic career over a span of last 15 years. He has been contributing to different newspapers all over India and abroad. He is also the author of Glimpses of the greats, The Silver Linings to the looming cloud, The Clarion, Cotton Gaurav Ne Asom Gaurav, Viswa Vijayi Swami Vivekananda, Indian Religion Vaisnavism and SankarDev and Across the Oceans.
His book- The Silver Linings to the Looming Cloud and Cotton Gaurav Ne Asom Gaurav has been accepted in the library of Congress, Washington D.C. , National Library Canada, National Library Australia, British Public Library and thirteen American Universities , like University of Harvard, University of Columbia, University of Chicago etc. Apart from this his books have been selected by the Central book selection Committee of Department of Cultural affairs, Government of India and then distributed in twenty-seven category A libraries all over the country.

Dr. Hazarika has traveled widely in Europe and United States of America. He acted as a visiting fellow in the University of Columbia, New York, University of Minneapolis, University of Chicago, in U.S.A and University of Oxford, University of York, University of Manchester in U.K and also University of Aberdeen in Scotland.

He is an elected member of British Ecological Society, London and many other professional bodies like National Commission for Co-operation with UNESCO. He is very much involved with youth –power in Assam through Swami Vivekananda’s teachings.
He is the Expert from India of the National Productivity Council. A joint venture of U.N.O. and Government of India. Presently Dr. Hazarika is Teaching in the Post graduate Department of Zoology, Cotton college, Guwahati. He is also the Present Director of Centre for Environment, Education and Economic Development (CEEED).
